M&E Contractor Synecore Hands Over £20,000 to Holding On Letting Go
After a year of fundraising, Kent-based M&E Contractor, Synecore handed over a cheque for £20,000 to the team at Holding On Letting Go on Sunday 20th May.
Holding On Letting Go (HOLG) is a Rochester-based charity that offers free bereavement support weekends to children and young people (aged 6-16) in Kent. These weekends are very creative. Over two days, the children make items that help them to hold on to precious memories, whilst learning to let go of painful memories and move forward in their lives in a positive way.
On this occasion, the HOLG bereavement weekend was held at Demelza House in Sittingbourne, where Synecore handed over the enormous cheque.
Holding On Letting Go CEO Caroline Ford, said: “It’s been a wonderful partnership with Synecore over the last year and their £20,000 donation is a fantastic amount to receive. It has allowed us to provide 10 bereavement weekends this year – more than ever before!
“We rely solely on donations and are very grateful for all the efforts of the staff at Synecore who have helped to raise this amount for us. It really will make a difference to the children and families we support.”
Since March 2017, Synecore has held events and taken part in activities to fundraise for Holding On Letting Go. The team have organised a quiz night, taken part in a triathlon, run their own Christmas jumper day and hosted a charity golf day, which has now become an annual charity fundraising event for the mechanical and electrical contractor.
“When we decided to support a local charity, we wanted to make a real difference,” explains Paul Thomas, Synecore’s Managing Director. “Being a parent of four, I wanted to support a children’s charity, one that hasn’t had the backing of larger organisations in the past.
“When we met the Holding on Letting Go team, it was clear they needed funding. They are a small organisation, who work tirelessly to ensure they can support kids across Kent, that are struggling to cope with bereavement.
“Our team got on board too and hosted a quiz night, ran a triathlon, wore Christmas jumpers and of course, we hosted our first ever charity golf day, which took place at Tudor Park last September.
“The golf day was a particular success. It was attended by over 80 players and raised £12,000. Needless-to-say we were delighted with the outcome. As a result, we are hosting another Charity Golf Day on Friday 13th July at Tudor Park in Maidstone. Due to its success, this year we will welcome over 120 players!”
“I would highly recommend supporting local charities to other successful businesses in Kent. It is a great opportunity to do good and embrace team spirit among your workforce. I couldn’t be more delighted to present £20,000 to such a worthy Kent charity.”
Synecore is currently based in Detling, but will soon be relocating to it newly acquired head offices in Sittingbourne. The Kent Contractor will operate its nationwide mechanical and electrical services from the new offices at Conqueror Court, where they will continue to support national roll out programmes for the commercial, hospitality, leisure and retail sectors.
The company’s enviable client base includes the likes of Leon Restaurants, Pret A Manger, Comptoir Libanais, Hilton Hotels and many more well-known hospitality brands.
Having acquired its new premises, Synecore has established a new commercial office space enterprise called Kent Office Space. A range of serviced D1 and B1 class offices are now available for SMEs, start-ups and freelance workers.
