La Bodega Negra

Project Outline:

Fileturn Ltd appointed Synecore for the full mechanical and electrical design and installation at this fantastic development in the heart of London’s West End.

A Mexican restaurant focusing on street food environment, the level of design input was significant, especially on extraction and ventilation.

With a wooden barbecue in kitchen, we had to spend many hours with Westminster council to ensure that our design was compliant at all times and that all fumes were being controlled in the correct manner.

Ground floor and basement kitchens, with incredibly low ceiling particularly in basement, ensured that our ductwork sizing was critical to the site being practical to operate.

After many meetings and discussions, final design was approved and we could commence manufacture of ductwork and indeed extract canopies.

Routes of the external ductwork was interesting, our installers used harness’s to access the outside of building and ensure installed correctly.

The clients designer was based in New York which bought its own difficulties, in terms of difference in time and indeed, difference in regulations, however we quickly formed a close relationship and ensured that communication was excellent.

Lights would arrive from Mexico that needed complete refurbishment prior to installation, however all essential to the look and feel of the development.

The project proved a huge success, the client was delighted and opened to rave reviews from all the critics.

Our scope of works included, full Air conditioning, Ventilation, Kitchen Extraction, Fire Alarm, Intruder Alarm, CCTV, Power, Data and Lighting.

What the client says,

“We chose to work with Synecore on this project because some complex issues meant we required a team that has experience with similar jobs and who has specific industry knowledge. The design and installation work for La Bodega Negra represented a number of challenges that Synecore were quick to overcome and they were able to produce an installation of superior quality. Particular problems Synecore were able to work around was the limited space we had available and installing a wooden barbecue that required time and dedication to have it signed off. We were impressed how Synecore were able to liaise with our overseas designer and still come out with a solution that was aligned to our vision.”
